Ishkur's Guide to Electronic music is an older but still very useful site for identifying the numerous genres and sub-genres of electronic music. Loops might have a limited genre aspect as described in my LoopArtists Blog but music itself has a dizzying amount of genres to keep up with. The Guide to Electronic music has a nice chart showing how the genres are related to each other and even has audio samples to preview. Not only is the guide useful but it’s also fun to use.

If you ever have question about any DAW software or hardware issues there is in many cases an answer to be found on the KVR forums.
